You can delete your SpeakShare account and its data at any time. This page explains the fastest way to do it in the app, and how to request deletion if you no longer have the app installed.
Delete your account in the app
- Open SpeakShare and go to your Profile tab.
- Tap the settings icon, then choose Account Management.
- Tap Delete Account and type DELETE to confirm.
Your account is scheduled for deletion with a 30-day grace period. During those 30 days your profile and videos are hidden, and you can change your mind by signing back in and choosing Cancel Deletion. After the grace period, deletion is permanent.
Request deletion without the app
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email hello@speakshare.io with the subject “Account deletion request”, sent from the email address associated with your SpeakShare account (or including your username). We will verify the request and schedule the deletion with the same 30-day grace period, and confirm by reply.
What gets deleted
When deletion completes, we permanently remove your account and the data associated with it, including your profile (username, display name, avatar, bio), your video recordings, drafts, thumbnails, captions and transcripts, AI feedback and practice history, comments, likes, follows, and your credit balance. Purchase records required for tax, legal, or fraud-prevention purposes may be retained where the law requires, and aggregated analytics that no longer identify you may be kept. Delete some data without deleting your account
You can delete individual videos at any time in the app, which also removes their stored thumbnails and transcripts, and you can edit or remove profile details under Edit Profile.
